Loving our own dog food

We wanted to make something nice for one of our team members, and someone had the idea of making a card on our Othercutter prototype. It turned out to be pretty fun. The process went like this.

  1. I opened up a photo in Inkscape. (which is free!)

  1. I used the line tool to draw on the photo. Then I deleted the photo.

  1. Then I saved the tracing as an svg from Inkscape and opened it up with the software that runs the Othercutter.

  1. Then I cut it out! I used the drop down menu to set the blade depth so that it would score the image into the cardboard, rather than cutting all the way through.

I love the way it turned out. I really can’t wait to see what happens when other people get to use our machines.
